Winds from the East! Your favorite practically perfect nanny takes center stage in this Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious adventure based on the award-winning Broadway musical and classic Walt Disney film. Bert, a man of many trades, introduces the audience to England in 1910, and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. From the moment she arrives, Mary takes the children on countless enchanting and memorable adventures. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family how to value each other once again. But Jane and Michael aren't the only ones she has a profound effect upon. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it.” Mary Poppins Jr is an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs, breathtaking dance numbers, and astonishing stagecraft.

Auburn Grace Community Church:
3126 Olympic Way
Auditions will be held at Auburn Grace Church on Monday, January 22nd starting at 6:30pm. Plan on staying for the dance auditions, as well.
Callbacks (for those who receive an email to return to read for a specific role) will be held at First Baptist Church in Auburn on Thursday, January 25th from 4-9pm.
Auditions are for CYT Students ages 8-18, who are enrolled in a current class. Auditions are open, as friends and parents are encouraged to stay and cheer on the students who are auditioning. Watching other participants is a valuable learning opportunity. Auditions are limited to ONE MINUTE in length. This is a time for your child to show the best of his or her talents. We recommend that your child introduce themselves with energy and confidence, and sing a song in his/her range. It is important to smile, project, and be well prepared in every way. Some students may prefer to present a one-minute monologue or comic routine, or a one-minute dance routine, if they feel this would show a student's talents better than a song. As part of the audition process, however, your child may also be asked to sing and/or learn a short dance routine.
Please bring your own accompaniment background. This could mean tracks on a CD with a CD player, tracks on an ipod or other device, or a friend or family member who plays piano, guitar or another accompanying instrument. There will be a speaker available at auditions as well as a piano or keyboard. The directors needs to see how well the student can stay with the music, both in tune and in rhythm and a capella singing is not recommended.
If the student is called back, an email will be sent out to the parents within a couple of days after the audition. All callbacks will be held on Thursday, January 25th, at First Baptist Church in Auburn. CYT callbacks are closed to everyone except the show directors. The directors will call back certain students to sing again, read from the script, dance some more or any combination of these. They will often ask pairs or groups of students to read scenes to see how different combinations of sizes and personalities work together. However, just because a student is not called back does not mean that he or she will not be cast in the show.
For additional audition information (plus so much more), check out the Parent's Guide to CYT on the home page of our website.
