Description:

As the sun rises on the Arable’s farm, Fern Arable discovers that her father is planning on killing the runt of the litter of pigs born during the night. She runs to save it and persuades her father to let her keep the pig, whom she names Wilbur. Wilbur is taken to the farm of her uncle, Homer Zuckerman, where he meets the other farmyard animals. However, Wilbur is lonely without a special friend of his own...that is, until he meets Charlotte--a spider!

This exciting, new musical version of Charlotte's Web brings a new dimension to E.B. White's beloved classic with a score which includes "Eating," "Who Says We Can't Be Friends,"  and "Welcome to the Zuckerman Barn," featuring all the story's unforgettable animals in a hand-clapping, toe-tapping hoe-down. This joyous musical is a very special experience and tells the story of unselfish friendship, perseverance and hope.

VOCAL AUDITIONSHeld on Friday, August 11  Location: Valley Springs Church - 2401 Olympus Dr (Roseville)
Please choose a track with no accompanying vocals (such as a karaoke track). Audition music should be no more than 1 minute. Auditions should be to music (not acapella). The director needs to see how well the student can stay with the music, both in tune and in rhythm. You will be able to upload your music to the audition form. It's best if you have a YouTube link or an actual song file rather than getting a song through iTunes, Spotify or Amazon. We cannot open files through these services.

DANCE AUDITIONSHeld on Saturday, August 12 at 9:00am. Location: Valley Springs Church - 2401 Olympus Dr (Roseville). All students who audition must attend the dance audition. Students will learn choreography at home via video and will come ready to perform it for the directors. Parents are welcome to stay and watch the dance audition. Approximate end time is 11:00 am.

CALLBACKS: Held on Saturday, August 12 immediately following the Dance Audition at the same location. CYT callbacks are closed to everyone except the show directors. The directors will call back certain students to sing again, read a scene, dance some more or any combination of these. They will often ask pairs or groups of students to read scenes to see how different combinations of sizes and personalities work together.  If a student is not "called back" it does not mean that they will not be cast in the show.

NOTES:
  • Students who audition are NOT eligible for a class tuition refund regardless of casting.
  • All students cast in the show will be charged a production fee of $175.
  • Families are required to volunteer 20+ hours on a parent team.
