The Second Annual Best Christmas Pageant Ever Auditions - CCT

CCT (Christian Community Theater) creates a space where individuals ages 19+ can glorify the Lord with the gifts and talents they have been given through quality theater arts training and productions for families and communities. Everyone involved is held to the highest level of excellence and quality. Faith is infused into every step of the production process.

Auditions : August 20, 2026 at Acton Academy
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Do you play an instrument?  Please prepare a 1 minute selection to demonstrate your skills.  You need not be a master! Intermediate skills can be incorporated into our version of this whimsical comedy!  BYOI (Bring Your Own Instrument) unless you play piano. A keyboard will be provided.  
  • Those cast for the show will be charged a Class Fee of $275 - No additional Production fee will be charged. 
  • Rehearsals: Thursdays, Act II (6:30-8:45pm) at Acton Academy
    • August 27
    • September 3, 10, 17, 24
    • October 8
    • Showcase: October 15 (Cast will create and perform a “commercial”)
    • Zoom rehearsal: Sun, November 8, 6-9pm
    • Clean up/Run through: November 19 at Acton Academy
  • Mandatory Rehearsals and Performances at Horizon Church, 628 Royer Street, Roseville
    • Load In: Sunday, November 29, 3-5pm (dinner break) & Run Through 6-9pm

Event Details:

The Herdmans were absolutely the worst kids in the history of the world.  They lied, they stole, they smoked cigars - even the girls.  They were just so all around awful you could hardly believe they were real! There was only one place you’d never see ‘em — church.  But when all six Herdmans show up in search of the free cookies and punch - and end up in the annual Christmas pageant - everyone is convinced they’ll ruin it!  This is going to be the worst Christmas pageant ever.  Or will it?

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever Roles
All roles will be played by adults.  Think “Charlie Brown”
 
  1. MOTHER - lead narrator
  2. FATHER - lead narrator
  3. RALPH. 12-13. The oldest Herdman; ragged, scroungy, slouching manner, touch of adolescent cool.
  4. IMOGENE. 11-12 Loud, bossy, tough, crafty. The Herdman leader.
  5. LEROY. 10-11. Tough, very sure of himself.
  6. CLAUDE. 8-9. Tough, combative. A crime buddy to Ollie.
  7. OLLIE. 8-9. Boy or girl. Always looking for trouble. Claude’s usual partner in crime.
  8. GLADYS. 7-8. Small, wiry, feisty. LOUD.
  9. CHARLIE B
  10. ALICE WENDLEKEN. 10-11. Prim, proper, prissy pain in the neck
  11. ELMER. 12-13. The minister’s son; dislikes church; not fond of the Herdmans.
