Description


Lyrical dance is a beautiful style of dance that combines modern, ballet and jazz moves with solid technique. In this class, we’ll explore how to expressively move in a way that captures the feeling and emotion of the music.  We’ll refine foundational ballet moves such as pirouette, a clean chassé into a leap and strengthen our plié and isolations. Using ballet fundamentals we’ll improve flexibility, strength, jumps, turns and across the floor techniques. Make new friends as we apply body language, facial expressions and emotions to our dancing to create and share stories with our audience at showcase and beyond!


CLASSES/CAMPS REFUND POLICY-
ATTENDANCE: please make every effort to attend ALL classes.  Students missing more than two classes are in jeopardy of not performing at showcase and attendance may affect their role in a show, if they are currently cast in a show.

NO REFUNDS OF ANY KIND OR CHANGES 2 weeks before the first day camp/class begins. Prior to 2 weeks a $25.00 cancellation fee per class is applied to refunds. Refunds are returned to the original form of payment. Camp/class changes are subject to availability. Tuition must be paid in full in order to register online for camp/class.

Naomi Hogan

Naomi is a CYT alum, excited to be back! She has a Bachelors degree in theater arts from Vanguard University, with an emphasis in musical theater. She has a love for the arts, (both visual and performing) and loves theater, partly because it combines so many different artistic forms. She has been learning, teaching, and choreographing various styles of dance for many years, and loves the puzzle of creating exciting pictures for the stage. Some of her favorite shows she has been in are Tuck Everlasting, the Great Divorce, and Frozen jr. As a choreographer, she has created beautiful storytelling for Junie B. Jones, Cinderella and Alice by Heart.
