Audition will remain open until February 10.  If you are interested in auditioning for the APEX Improv Academy Team, please email micky@cytsacramento.org.

APEX stands for Advanced Performer Exhibition and provides training that culminates in a national adjudication and competition experience with fellow talented CYT students from across the country.  The APEX Improv Team will participate in preliminary competitions showcasing their work as individual and team improvisers. The top 3 rankings will be announced during the National Showcase on the final night of EXPO.  In addition to the COMPETITION TEAM, up to 6 students will be chosen for the ACADEMY TEAM to perform and be adjudicated at EXPO in order to continue their Improv growth for future competitive teams. BOTH the COMPETITION TEAM and the ACADEMY TEAM must commit to additional rehearsal dates and participation in attending the CYT EXPO at Jessup University, July 13-16, 2026.

*Additional rehearsals: 6/1, 6/15, 6/29 (Mondays, 4-6pm)  7/7 (tues 4-6pm), 7/11 (sat AM 10am-noon)
*APEX Improv Show and Fundraiser: Friday,  APRIL 17

CLASSES/CAMPS REFUND POLICY-
ATTENDANCE: please make every effort to attend ALL classes.  Students missing more than two classes are in jeopardy of not performing at showcase and attendance may affect their role in a show, if they are currently cast in a show.

NO REFUNDS OF ANY KIND OR CHANGES 2 weeks before the first day camp/class begins. Prior to 2 weeks a $25.00 cancellation fee per class is applied to refunds. Refunds are returned to the original form of payment. Camp/class changes are subject to availability. Tuition must be paid in full in order to register online for camp/class.

Jessilee Windhaus

Jessilee Windhaus is an improviser, actor, instructor, and entrepreneur born and raised in Sacramento. She brings over 10 years of experience in leadership in the performing arts and over 20 years of expertise in improv performance and instruction. She is currently a Teaching Artist at B Street Theatre. Additionally, Jessilee is the Founder and Executive Director of Haus of Comedy (hausofcomedy.com), Co-Founder of Empire Arts Collective, and Founder of That Plus Chips live sketch and improv comedy group. Jessilee has trained with the Upright Citizen's Brigade, The Groundlings, and many other esteemed improv instructors. She holds a Bachelor's in Theatre from CSU Sacramento. She has performed both nationwide and locally at comedy hubs like Sacramento Comedy Spot, STAB! Comedy, ComedySportz Sacramento, Empire Arts Collective, Dinner Detective, and Sutter Street Theatre. She served as the Director of High School League at ComedySportz Sacramento, Tour Actor/Director with the world-renowned Missoula Children's Theatre and is proud to join the team at CYT!
