In this hands-on acting class, students will discover what makes a scene truly engaging by exploring the craft behind every entrance, line, pause, and moment of connection. They'll explore where a scene fits within the story arc, how to heighten important plot points, uncover character objectives and tactics while implementing appropriate pacing. Students will also practice how to make motivated entrances and exits, elevate listening skills for authentic reactions and navigate "cut-off" lines for believability. Whether preparing for callbacks, productions, or simply looking to grow as a performer, this class will equip students with the tools to elevate their scenework beyond just some boring words that happen between the songs in a musical.
