Description:

Based on J.M. Barrie's classic tale, Peter Pan is one of the most beloved family favorites of all time. Peter and his mischievous fairy sidekick, Tinkerbell, visit the nursery of the Darling children late one night and, with a sprinkle of pixie dust, begin a magical journey across the stars that none of them will ever forget. In the adventure of a lifetime, the travelers come face to face with a ticking crocodile, a fierce Indian tribe, a band of bungling pirates and, of course, the villainous Captain Hook.

  • The Audition form can be found on the Shows page under PDFs.
  • Arrive with your audition packet filled out
  • Dance auditions and callbacks will be held at Pamelot Dance Studio in Auburn on Saturday, August 18th starting at 9:00am (EVERYONE who auditioned on Monday MUST attend the dance audition as well).
  • PLEASE NOTE there is a separate production fee for the show

Auditions are for CYT Students ages 8-18, who are enrolled in a current class. Auditions are open, as friends and parents are encouraged to stay and cheer on the students who are auditioning. Watching other participants is a valuable learning opportunity. Auditions are limited to ONE MINUTE in length. This is a time for your child to show the best of his or her talents. We recommend that your child introduce themselves with energy and confidence, and sing a song in his/her range. It is important to smile, project, and be well prepared in every way. Some students may prefer to present a one-minute monologue or comic routine, or a one-minute dance routine, if they feel this would show a student's talents better than a song. As part of the audition process, however, your child may also be asked to sing and/or learn a short dance routine.

Please bring your own accompaniment background. This could mean tracks on a CD with a CD player, tracks on an ipod or MP3 player, or a friend/family member who plays piano, guitar or another accompanying instrument. There will be a speaker available at auditions as well as a piano or keyboard. The directors need to see how well the student can stay with the music, both in tune and in rhythm.

Dance Auditions will be held the Saturday following auditions. All students who audition must attend the dance auditions. Students will be taught a dance(s) from the show, and then be asked to perform it for the directors. Parents are welcome to stay and watch the dance audition.

Callbacks will be held on Saturday, August 18th, at Pamelot Dance Studio in Auburn immediately following the dance auditions. CYT callbacks are closed to everyone except the show directors. The directors will call back certain students to sing again, read a scene, dance some more or any combination of these. They will often ask pairs or groups of students to read scenes to see how different combinations of sizes and personalities work together. However, just because a student is not called back does not mean that he or she will not be cast in the show.

For additional audition information (plus so much more), check out the home page of our website.
The Audition form can be found on the Shows page under PDFs.
CYT TV live casting will be Sunday, August 19th at 4pm.
