Teacher:

Tanner Coppernoll

CYT alumni, Tanner Nolan Coppernoll, is ecstatic to fulfill a position in teaching students of all ages his knowledge of the arts. Called to be a pastor from the Lord, he feels as if he is receiving a head start in beginning his ministry when working at CYT. Tanner has done eight major performances in his life. Pertaining to those performances, his favorite roles have been Tommy Djlas (CYT’s “Music Man”), Perchik (CYT’s “Fiddler on the Roof”), and Johnathan Northbrook (CYT’s “Mary Poppins Jr.”). Tanner has always been involved with visual arts, singing, and some times dancing (in his home kitchen, that is). High school sparked the interest of the arts in Tanner’s life. It was there where he would take on two years of drama and choir classes, speech, two years of yearbook, and six musicals. In his second year at Sierra College, majoring in Photography has blessed him with many opportunities to take arts classes (such as: Poetry, History of Music, History of Theatre, and Photography). He now successfully owns his very own business, “Vision Photography”, displaying the love of Christ through the gift of visual arts God blessed him with. Alongside his business, God has placed him in the ministry where he fulfills the position of a high school counselor at First Baptist Church of Auburn (where he runs the social media, leads bible studies, and does worship). Tanner plans to focus on the character of students' hearts, teach visual concepts in a unique way, and how that interconnects with theatre and art as a whole. His concept of teaching will always be Christ-centered and wants to glorify Him through all of the classes he teaches.
