Free yourself from self-consciousness and the pressures of performance and learn how to portray the “truth in imaginary circumstances.” Starting with the Sanford Meisner acting technique, which includes a series of concentration exercises, the class will next delve into scene and monologue work to apply what has been learned during the exercises. Improvisation will also be used to reinforce the techniques of creating a realistic experience.
Meeting dates are: 8/26, 9/2 (no meeting due to Labor Day), 9/9, 9/16, 9/23, 9/30, 10/7
*This 6 week intensive will not perform at showcase
CLASSES/CAMPS REFUND POLICY-
NO REFUNDS OF ANY KIND OR CHANGES 2 weeks before the first day camp/class begins. Prior to 2 weeks a $25.00 cancellation fee per class is applied to refunds. Refunds are returned to the original form of payment. Camp/class changes are subject to availability. Tuition must be paid in full in order to register online for camp/class.
Austin Mark Nunn loves being a part of the CYT Sacramento family. He graduated with his BA in Performance and Directing from Vanguard University of Southern California. A few of Austin’s favorite productions as the director and/or choreographer include, Peter Pan, Kiss Me Kate, Metamorphosis, Dancing at Lughnasa, and The Addams Family.
Austin is the resident choreographer for Reality Youth show choir which has performed all over the United States. Austin has performed professionally throughout Southern California and in the greater Sacramento area. Favorite roles include the Baker in Into the Woods, Uncle Fester in The Addams Family, Elton John in The Beat Goes On (a role he originated) Joe Cable in South Pacific and Captain Phoebus de Martin in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. For his performance of First Gangster in Kiss Me Kate, Austin was nominated for the Irene Ryan Outstanding Performance Award by the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. He is grateful for the opportunity to share his love for the arts with the students at CYT Sacramento and looks forward to all that God has in store.
Kaytlin McIntosh is so excited for the opportunity to be a part of the CYT Sacramento family as an instructor. She began taking American Sign Language classes in 2011 at Sierra College. This was where she fell in love with Deaf culture and sparked her passion for the Deaf community. After finishing Sierra College, she transferred to California State University Northridge, where she graduated with her BA in Deaf Studies in 2017. Currently Kaytlin works as a teacher's aid in an elementary school classroom with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. Kaytlin was added to the CYT Sacramento family for the 2018-2019 season when she had the opportunity to stage manage Dear Edwina, Jr. She is delighted to both teach and stage manage this season with CYT Sacramento and see what God has for this season.
