Come learn to harmonize together! There is nothing quite as cool as singing in a duet, trio or quartet and striking that perfect chord. Whether it’s a barbershop quartet, a female trio or SATB, harmonizing makes your ears tingle! This class explores the techniques of harmonizing with other vocalists. Learn blending, listening skills, how to hold your part, and create basic chords within groups of all sizes! This class culminates with a fun showcase performance including songs from Broadway Favorites such as Mama Mia, 42nd Street and A Chorus Line!
CLASSES/CAMPS REFUND POLICY:
NO REFUNDS OF ANY KIND OR CHANGES 2 weeks before the first day camp/class begins. Prior to 2 weeks a $25.00 cancellation fee per class is applied to refunds. Refunds are returned to the original form of payment. Camp/class changes are subject to availability. Tuition must be paid in full in order to register online for camp/class.
Kim Cyrus is a new Instructor at CYT and is very honored and excited about the opportunity to work with such amazing and talented youth for the spring session of classes. Kim has been teaching both private singers and vocal performances classes for youth for the past 30 years. Kim also began directing musical theater stage productions in 2001 after relocating to the Sacramento Area from Portland, Oregon. Kim has directed many different musical productions in that time, working with hundreds of students in various community theater companies around the Sacramento region. As the owner and Director of Sacramento Performing Arts Company, Kim continues teaching students of all ages, as well as writing and producing student productions that showcase each student's own individual and unique vocal qualities. This is something that has bought a lot of joy and tremendous blessing to her life and her career. Kim has been honored to have been recognized for her musical direction in youth theater by S.A.R.T.A who has nominated Kim 11 times for Best Musical Direction in youth musical theater. Kim has also served as a music educator for the Rocklin School District and has sat on the judges panel for local Sacramento vocal competitions such as Norcal Sings. Prior to her success as a vocal director and private instructor, Kim worked as an early education and elementary school educator for a private school and after, became the administrator of the same school for 7 years. Kim is a graduate of BYU where she earned her degree in Elementary Education and Vocal Music.
